What do you call the morning after feeling of taking pills?

Last night a friend of mine took about 26 some odd pills. He called this morning feeling a hangover. I wanted to know if a hangover is strictly alcohol or can it be used to describe how he is feeling. He has the usual symptoms of a hangover just he popped pills and not alcohol. If it isn't politically correct to use the term hangover, then what is the correct term?
